
On April 8, 2021, Mr. Praphat Bodhasuthon, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives of Thailand, revealed that the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MOAC) has considered approving a Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) mandatory standard for Pig farm.
On the other hand, Mr. Bodhasuthon added that MOAC has continuously promoting/encouraging farmers to do cricket farming not only it is the food of the future with the high nutritional value but it also renders environmental sustainability.
Since February 12, 2021, Mexico opened its door for Thai cricket products, in which MOAC, through the National Bureau of Agricultural Commodity and Food Standards (ACFS), has been urging both farmers and processors to enhance their cricket production standards. In order to meet the GAP standard of cricket farms, the processing plants must comply with good hygiene practice (GHP) as prescribed by the Department of Livestock Development and the Mexican authority.
